Did you know dingoes and wild dogs eat 39 ‘Red Listed’ species on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s List of Threatened Species? That’s 11 more than feral cats.
In fact, according to this recent study, by Doherty et al, 2018, these predators’ menu is extensive including at least 229 vertebrate species and varies depending on their bioclimatic zone.
They prey on 62 small mammal species, 50 medium-sized mammals, 29 large native mammals, 10 medium-to-large-sized exotic ungulates, 50 birds, 26 reptiles as well as fish and frogs.
